SLSCC Community Education teams have been hosting back to back surf fun and surf survival days at both Terrigal and Umina Beach this term.
“With the restrictions placed on school in terms of excursions and camps, the surf days that SLSCC offers have been extremely popular this year, giving students an opportunity to learn some surf skills and have some fun on the beach in a covid safe way” said the Community Education Officer, Nicci Stevenson.
SLSCC have been working closely with schools and the Department of Education to ensure these days can go ahead within Covid restrictions.
“Its been a really busy term” said Nicci. “Our surf fun days have been very welcomed as a day full of fun and smiles, giving everyone a chance to feel a little “normal” again.”
Term 1 of next year continues to see our community education team on the beach with Central Coast schools, with Beach Smart talks scheduled to be delivered at the schools later in the year.
