Surf Life Saving Central Coast has just delivered the final round of the 2020/21 Newcastle Permanent Junior Ironperson Series in exciting fashion at Ocean Beach SLSC. The Series supports emerging lifesavers by testing their skills across a number of Ironperson formats. Round 1 – Enduro, round 2 – Side by Side and round 3 – Double M Shape.

The long running Series continues to solidify its place as one of the best Junior Ironperson Series for our emerging iron men and women. With over 240 registered hopefuls aged between U10-U17 years, all were vying to take out the hotly contested title.

Ocean Beach produced small conditions on the weekend, testing the fitness of all competitors.  In the younger age groups Avoca’s U/10 female Tahlia Tebb, Umina’s U/11 female Amber Stevenson and Terrigal’s U/12 male Hayden McGregor outperformed their age groups taking out the series with maximum points.

The nail biter was in the U/14’s males, with Umina’s Cashar Darwin and Avoca’s Jerome Drobot tied leading into the decider. Nothing was held back, putting on a great demonstration of fitness and skills but it was Jerome who topped the podium this year winning the day and the series.

Sincere thanks to event sponsor Newcastle Permanent for the continuous support and in making this event possible.
