Our masters came out in force to compete against the best in the state at Blacksmiths Beach recently, with 6 of our Central Coast clubs in the top 15 overall rankings at the recent Masters NSW Championships.
North Avoca placed 8th in the state with some great performances in the womens area from Kim Findlay and Colleen Harrison. Other standouts were Hayden Smith and Paul Lemmon from Terrigal, both winning the Ironman in their respective age groups.
Blacksmiths Beach didn’t dissapoint in giving the competitors some challenging conditions, with a solid ground swell creating some havoc on the bank for the ski paddlers. The comraderie between the clubs was evident in spite of the the wind and rain, with plenty of supporters cheering them on as they battled the conditions.
With the season coming to an early end, this last big hit out really showcased the skills of our masters accross the coast and, with an extended off season ahead, no doubt they will display some exciting racing when they get back on the beach again next year.
