After a busy term 3 delivering surf safety talks to local school, our Community Education team hit the beach this week.
Over 20 instructors took part in a training and induction day held at Toowoon Bay. The day involved staff carrying out their award proficiencies and learning how to structure a surf education session .
Our Community education program has been running for 21 years on the Central Coast and reaches over 15,000 students every year.
“We always have a great bunch of instructors, with many having a wealth of experience to run these programs.” said Jon Harkness, CEO of SLSCC. “It was great to see the enthusiasm they have for the program and the excitement at being back on the beach teaching kids.”
Term 4 is fully booked for surf fun days but there are still some availability in Term 1 next year. For more information, contact surfed@slscc.com.au
