The Awards of Excellence Evening recognises our clubs and members achievements of the past season. And recognise our member’s outstanding patrolling service.
This season our 15 clubs from The Lakes to Umina have patrolled our beaches ensuring zero drownings. Our beaches also saw an approximate increase in visitors during patrolling hours of 34% to 1.1million visitors.
The night recognises the outstanding achievements in surf sports, education, lifesaving, youth activities and patrols. These awards are the ultimate recognition of our members across the Central Coast. The major awards are lifesaver of the year, young lifesaver of the year, Club of the Year award.
Surf Lifesaver of the Year is a prestigious award as it typifies the reason for what we do as lifesavers. The Young Lifesaver of the Year is for a member who goes above and beyond the usual requirements. The Club of the Year is awarded for outstanding effort and efficiency in all areas of club operations.
We recognise that we can have only approximately 400 of our 8300 volunteer members at the event. The roles they all play are vital to the safety of our beaches. We recognise each and every member for their amazing work and continued dedication to the movement keeping the Central Coast Beaches safe.
