Matt Slattery – North Avoca

This week Surf Life Saving Central Coast welcomed two new volunteer directors to Surf Life Saving Central Coast. Matt Slattery of North Avoca SLSC was appointed Branch President and Emma Benson of Avoca Beach SLSC was appointed Branch Director of Surf Sports.

Matt is a former NSW Surf Life Saver of the Year and has been the North Avoca Club President for 5years. Outgoing Branch President Stuart Harvey said “I have watched Matt develop and grow over the years through his various roles at club and branch level and I know that he will be a great leader for Surf Life Saving Central Coast into the future”

Emma is a former sports coach and has been involved in Surf Sports for over 20years in various roles. The expertise and knowledge she brings to the role will see the Central Coast continue to grow and engage our members in sport and develop vital rescue skills used by volunteer members on patrol.

Both Matt and Emma will have big shoes to fill as they take over from two gentlemen who have both served 12 years as Surf Life Saving Central Coast Directors, Stuart Harvey – as Branch President and David Unger as Director of Surf Sports. The contribution of these two men has contributed to the continued success of Surf Life Saving Central Coast and the strength of our 15 surf clubs to continually deliver patrol services across our 15 patrol locations on the Central Coast.
