Karen Hickmott finalist in the SLSNSW Rotary Emergency Service Community Awards

Congratulations to Karen Hickmott from Toowoon Bay SLSC on being awarded finalist in the NSW Rotary Emergency service awards. Karen has used her extensive experience as the parent and advocate of two children with significant additional needs, her formidable management and organizational skills and her passion and dedication for helping others to make a difference for many members of the community

Community Education up, up and away!

Our Community Education team hit the ground running this week with the start of their Beach Smart talks at Jilliby Public School. The beach smart program is designed to communicate important beach safety lessons for life to school age children. Last year, the SLSCC Community Education program reached over 15,000 school children through the beach smart and surf fun day

Female Mentoring Program

Two Central Coast female lifesavers were selected to take part in the SLSA Female Mentoring program announced this week. SLSA established the Female Mentoring Program to strengthen and support females in positions of leadership within Surf lIfe Saving. The program consists of 20 mentors and 20 mentees and run for a period of 12 months. Jenni Darwin from Umina was
