The Newcastle Permanent Junior Lifesavers of the Year recognises the involvement and achievements of the young men and women coming through Surf Life Saving in the under 14 age group. Clubs are asked to nominate one male and one female to represent their club as their nominees. This year SLSCC received 28 nominations from 15 surf clubs. Nominees then go through an interview process, which aims to found out what broad understanding of Surf Life Saving each nominee has. throughout the interview nominees do;

  2. CPR Assessment
  3. Interview

This year the Newcastle Permanent Surf Life Saving Central Coast Junior Life Savers of the Year are Kale Puata of North Avoca and Brooke Gillett of North Avoca. Both nominees showed an impressive understanding of Surf Life Saving and demonstrated very competent lifesaving skills throughout the interview process.
