Masters and Open competitors from Umina and Ocean Beach SLSC competed in the Lifesaving weekend at the recent NSW championships.
The event was held over three days at Swansea’s Blacksmiths beach.

Umina SLSC showed its strength in the Champion Lifesaver event. Umina’s Kerry Armstrong once again took out the female masters 40+ title with teammate Christine Bishop bringing home bronze along with Ocean Beach’s David Nash in the mens 40+.

Lachlan Braddish from Umina took out the male U19’s event with teammate Kirsten Miller bringing home the silver in the age group.
Umina’s Bethwyn Caller won the U17’s event and up and coming athlete, Davara Marshall took home the gold in the U15’s.
Umina once again featured in the Champion Patrol event, taking home the silver in the mixed U17’s with teammates Matthew Kearney, Maia Darwin, Ebony Rayner and Bethwyn Caller.

In the first aid competition, Umina placed top three in every age group, giving the dominant Freshwater club some tough competition.
