Surf Life Saving Central Coast was crowned NSW Branch of the Year for 2019/2020 at the NSW Awards of Excellence last weekend, with the achievements of the branch highlighted in a live virtual awards presentation.

Umina SLSC also took out 3 major lifesaving awards. The club won NSW Club of the Year for the second year in a row, Patrol of the Year for the unprecedented third year and Kai Darwin from Umina was awarded Young Lifesaver of the Year for a second consecutive year, a remarkable achievement for the young lifesaver.

Central Coast athletes also took out some major awards, with the talented swimmer James Koch awarded NSW Opens Athlete of the Year and Paul Lemmon taking out the Master Athlete of the Year title for a remarkable 12th year in a row.
