Last weekend Surf life Saving Central Coast Support Operations team conducted a Search and Rescue exercise (SAREX) to prepare for the season ahead at the notorious blackspot Snapper Cave and surrounding Frazer Park area. Since 2007 there have been 27 lives lost on the dangerous coastline and last season the Central Coast Support Operations team conducted 114 rescues across the Central Coast.

The purpose of the SAREX is to prepare the Support Operations teams for emergency incidents across the Central Coast coastline. Frazer Park is a unique stretch of coastline because of its remote access. This allows the Support Operations team to simulate complex emergency situations so they can be prepared to respond in any situation.

The training they undertake is incredibly vital for their own safety and patients. Every time our Support Operations team respond to a call it is because someone is in trouble in a very dangerous location along the coastline. It is up to the Support Operations team to navigate the conditions safely and retrieve the patient from the danger.

Thank you to all the Central Coast Support Operations team who do a fantastic job at keeping our community and visitors safe along the entire Central Coast coastline.
