The SLSCC Surf Sports Calendar has been released, with carnivals confirmed from October through to December at this stage.
With the current Covid restrictions in place, the surf sports committee have been working hard to produce a program that can run to the numbers restrictions on the beach.
Junior carnivals have been seperated into age groups but more opportunity has opened up for the Under 14’s, who have been placed with opens and masters.
” We have tried to put together a comprehensive program for all athletes, focusing on engagement and participation as well as providing opportunities for competitive racing at all age levels.” said David Unger, SLSCC Director of Surf Sports.
“With the Streets Boats Series now going ahead, we have an action packed couple of months.” he said.
“The Newcastle Permanent Ironperson series once again returns and has been opened up for U19’s, opens and masters providing some good local racing for competitors who are unable to travel at this time.”
The sports calendar for Jan to April will be released later this year following a review of the first few carnivals.
